B.O. Pokhodenko graduated from the Kharkiv Higher Military Aviation School of Radio Electronics in 1990 and the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy of Ukraine in 2008. He began his teaching career at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, where he worked as a senior lecturer until 2024, combining educational and research activities. There, he began developing a research focus related to risk management in energy sector enterprises, information security, and the use of artificial intelligence.
From 2023 to 2025, he worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University, where he focused significantly on data analytics, the application of artificial intelligence in enterprise risk management and cybersecurity, including in the energy sector.
In 2025, he transferred to the position of senior lecturer at the newly established Department of Cybersecurity at KhNADU, which has become a center for cutting-edge research and training of specialists in the field of information systems and critical infrastructure protection, a field that best aligns with his research focus.
Boris Oleksiyovych has authored over 20 scientific and educational works that address issues of cybersecurity, risk management, digital protection, and the use of innovative technologies—including AI, the Internet of Things, and cloud services—in the field of security for critical enterprises and facilities.
Participation in international activities and systematic professional development play a significant role in the researcher’s professional growth. He has repeatedly participated in international conferences dedicated to cybersecurity, the application of artificial intelligence, and enterprise risk management. He successfully completed the following programs: the Jean Monnet module “Sustainable Thinking and Entrepreneurship”; the Jean Monnet module “Business Models for Sustainable Development: Challenges and Digital Transformation”; the Institute of Postgraduate Education (Ivano-Frankivsk) program “The Researcher’s Personal Brand”; Prometheus “Academic Integrity: An Online Course for Instructors”; and the Ministry of Education and Science and the International Center for Technical Education “The Big Course on AI in Education.”
Research Interests:
Currently, Boris Oleksiyovych’s research priorities include the detection and neutralization of cyber threats, the development of strategies for protecting information systems, risk management in the energy sector, and the digital transformation of security processes using artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and cloud technologies to ensure the resilience of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
