Shamrai O.V. graduated from O.M. Gorky Kharkiv State University (now V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University), Faculty of Foreign Languages, in 1982.

Shamrai O.V. has been working at KhNAHU (KhADI) since 1984.

Shamrai O.V. is the author of more than 50 scientific articles, 10 manuals, and 3 textbooks.

In 1995, Shamrai O.V. received the certificate of French language teacher as CAVILAM, Vichy (France).

Focus of scientific interests: intercultural communication, individual approach to teaching, information and communication technologies in teaching foreign languages, peculiarities of teaching foreign languages in Western Europe and Canada.
