Scientific Development at the Department

It is difficult to start a new business, especially when this business requires specialists of the highest category and modern expensive equipment. This is especially true of science.

In 2007 the department was just organized, and next year it wass necessary to obtain accreditation. There were no scientific areas yet, but economic and contractual work had to be done. That is why the priority in the development of the Department was the development of various scientific areas. The first economic research work was commissioned by the German firm Wirtgen.

It was devoted to the harmonization of standards for road and construction machinery (scientific supervisor Professor I. Kyrychenko, responsible executor Associate Professor V. Moliavko).

After the department was established in 2007, international relations began to develop gradually. In 2007-2008 the department carried out research work commissioned by the German firm Wirtgen. The work was devoted to the harmonization of standards in road construction machinery. In 2010, joint work was carried out with the German company Deutzer to develop measurement information systems on rail transport. In 2013-2015, joint researches were conducted with the University of Hanover (Germany), which were devoted to assessing the structural stability of the suspension of high-speed cars. In 2015, the Department participated in the international project competition “Non-marking tubular hoisting tools development”, which was organized by the Texas Institute of Science (USA).

Students studying the specialty “Metrology and Measurement Technology” have repeatedly had internships in European countries, in Germany and Poland in particular.
